hiya,
I used to meet a Robinsons of half cab Foden fame regularly just off the North Circular Rd around Cricklewood way early am at an ICI distribution depot me delivering perspex him delivering dry ice and spoke to the shunter, the trunker being in his bed for the day, his views and the views of the long haul man did’nt match up to the views of Mr Robinson they hated the things and myself having had a little sit in one could understand why, very basic and i thought only suitable for yard shunting duties, methinks a touch of the penny pinching.
thanks harry long retired.

Hello again,Harry I could see you were trying yesterday to knock it into page 60…thanks for trying,I think as replies go you and Pat (aniacs) are both top of the list…again thanks for your recollections,as far as I can tell I can go on for a while yet but I will be moving house soon so I will have to spend time doing my share of the packing so I may not be on every day like I am now.One thing Mrs Bubbs is not happy with the amount of stuff I’ve got so there will be a fair bit of chucking out

Hi Is the reason that there are not too many pics of Irish trucks on here because only Gatsos have fast enough exposure to photograph them?
Sorry I’m logging off now. Gavin
Hi ,to answer Moomoo’s question, well the clipping comes from a copy of Commercial Motor but the date
,all I can say Paul is when I was on fridge work I went to Thomasons quite a few times and they closed 2 or 3 years before we folded that would be the mid 90s…sorry to be a bit vague…as usual
Bubbs.
mr mcardle didn’t expect that from you well i think the thread deserves the credit that it gets for being a great reminder of the past and it would only diminish the joy people get from it to try and drag it down with snide comments. hope the thread continues for quite a time yet without controversy.
Hello once again,heres todays offering…Volvos.
Hope these are of interest.
Cheers Bubbs.

Good one Gavin.Dey were de days! We`re all as one now.
The John Billows 4wheeler was the start of his long connection with Volvos, that started what became a large dealership , in Kettering, that is still going today although not Billows anymore. Thats on an F plate which I think is 68/69.
Hi Marc congrats on 60
