bubbleman:

I remember these motors, and also some R reg F88’s from Dawson, they used to do a lot of empty cans into Coca Cola in MK.

“OW” is a Southampton reg. no. Not sure who’s vehicle it is though.

The “CR” also Southampton reg. no. Aerosol Research and Development, Portsmouth.

The “AA” a Hampshire reg.no. on the P&O Robert Armstrong F89.

The “HO” a Hampshire reg. no. on the A.E Parker F88 290.

All were supplied new by Prince’s Commercials, Millbrook Road, Southampton.

Cheers Marc.

That look’s very much like Truckworld at Thurrock in the background.

It probably is Goaty as Brains old yard at Oliver Road Thurrock was right opposite Truckworld

It’s been a while since i’ve lifted a box off in there and i’ve forgotten the name of the firm who have it now but there are still a few old “Hollywood Haulage” photo’s on the wall in the booking in hut !

Thanks for that Gazzer, I wasn’t sure!!

Got it ! Seabournes .

All the above pictures are brilliant. I just picked this IFF box out as I used to work on them. They were the new design made from Steel corners but using marine ply between a sandwich of resin. They were supposed to be stronger and lighter, but were a problem to repair.

They also used to belly out of profile and would be refused by the railways. They are the prototype to the bulk boxes used by IBC / UBC now, the same man started the company from scratch, and my boss used to send me out on jobs. “We will send little Malcolm” :stuck_out_tongue:

Loved the LPG and Pilkington MAN too

I have got that video at home. That daf was in the video.

Excellent Marc, spot on mate. I remember going into C W Bridge’s yard in the early 90s to pick a dump truck up, was sat in there for a few hrs, so had a look about. Well i wish id had my camara with me that day!!, that firm hadnt had a clear out for a good while, and their was loads of old Foden Hual/fleet Masters, Sed Atki 400s, Borderers, foden S80s ect all lying about in various conditions!! Whilst i was there two late 70s B-series ERFs came in to use the diesel bunker Bridges operated, they were from the Rieves & Grosart fleet, both Gardner 240 powered with jennings sleepers and rear-lift axle conversions. They were absolutley mint motors and the drivers were proud of their old girls, the only problems being lack of storage in the Jennings sleepers for 5 nights out!!
C W Bridge were taken-over not long after that i think, cant remember who it was though, can any body remember??
