Hmmmm… and the caption says it’s a “two man sleeper” - they’d need to be good friends, looking at the size of that sleeper pod!

Thanks for those Mark,I remember all of them and especially Harold Woods as I used to work with some of their drivers out of BSC Chemicals in the late 60s. A.E.Evans bought one of those AEC Mammoth Minors off Thomas Allen on a “G” plate about 1973.
Hi Marc I hope you don’t mind me adding to your Scrapbook but I had a 1971 AEC Mercury rigid I used to go all over uk with it on groupage runs, I made it up to a sleeper cab (That was luxury then )
Here it is in about 1978
Regards Pat
Great pics Pat,the sleeper conversion looked better than the professionals could do…me l had the inenviable nights kip in a normal mercury cab, only once thank god!
Thanks for putting on your pics.
Cheers Marc
Yea good memorys,i used to drive a mercury in the 70s for parkers tpt in bolton hauling steel and tyres mostly.
Before I put the sleeper on I used to sleep on two boards thatit snugly between the door ledges and met on the bonnet, you had to make sure the doors were locked though fr if someone should open a door while you were asleep you would slide out!!!
Never happened to me but have been told about it by several others!
Regards Pat
