Yes, Baxter was involved somewhere along the line and they were taken over by K & N back in 2011. My connection with them goes back much further. Maybe the 70s I answered an advert from them for drivers. I turned up at the same time as other applicants. As far as I know non of us got a job or indeed were informed as such. Fast forward to the 90s when I was manager at Toray after the takeover from Courtaulds, I was freed to pursue my own vehicle purchases. As with others, principally Foden, I asked them to provide a Magnum for trial for a fortnight. They agreed and I booked a hire trailer elsewhere to go with it as we were changing to drawbars and had no semis left. It never arrived and, on asking they just sort of shrugged and said nothing was available. I had to cancel the hire trailer on the day it was due. A strange company.

The Scammell is a 1948 reg, IIRC It would have a Gardner 6 LW engine with a gate change gearbox, I dont know the model, Larry.
