That’s a very modest logo on the K & M Foden. Perhaps bought in and needed immediately for work with no time for a full job?

What was the reasoning behind the Chinese Six? Was it easi? Spread of axle weight at the time? Many operators used them as it avoided overloading the front axle when doing multi drop deliveries.
Pete.
Thanks

Hi Larry, did Parks ever run out of Calders/Cooksons lead mill in Newcastle.I think I remember seeing them many moons ago when I would run scrap lead in and backload with new lead cheers Ray
Hi Ray; Yes David Park had most of the Leadworks traffic, IIRC He was their T/M And took their wagons on and started on his own, He was later taken over by another firm but I cant think of their name. I used to get a lot of work from there myself but this was Cargo Transporters work who had a office on the Quayside ; Larry.

I’m sure David Park ran Tyne Shipping and Forwarding based at Bowburn Ind Est, Durham early 80’s when I did a short spell for them running pipes from Hartlepool Mill to Portobello, Edinburgh. This was likely after the Leadworks and I believe they went out of business by the mid 80’s. I was often in the Elswick works with my Father in the 60’s Ouseburn held a huge tonnage of lead in their warehouses on the Newcastle and Gateshead side of the Tyne where it was distributed from. My older Brother worked there too moulding and stacking the ingots, dirty hard and heavy graft, good job he was built like the proverbial! Little did I realise I’d be loading and delivering from the same place myself years later and it had changed very little. Franky.
Hi Larry & Franky thanks for the replies I recognized the name and thought that’s a blast from the past…a few years ago
cheers Ray
Well IMM Is correct Park aquired Freeway Haulage in Dunston and was still going in the 90s, The group that took them over also took Van Hee. Eric Short; Philips of Seahouses; Gallagher Bros But they just seemed to last a very short time, Larry.

Two, three & four wheeled transport, Buzzer
I love the middle one, but can see a problem in unprepared hands with outward tail swing when cornering. On the plus side, for those with problems with parallel parking, all you do is dive headfirst into a spot and then swing the tail in.

But is it front or rear steered?
