I can remember having a black series 1 Oxford (side valve engine- would run on paraffin if you didn’t mind the white smoke!) and thinking that it was a fairly modern car.

Bayleys of Macc, they were big Foden users and I still see one of their ex driver’s at rallies. A tall exhaust tailpipe on that S21 as well, I could imagine that fouling under some loading plant’s!

They certainly did i used to live in Delph, and later Denshaw, and would see them all the time coming over Grains Bar and in to Saddleworth.

It’s an Eisenhauer Ð¥-2 built in Ohio in 1957.
Powered by two General Motors 6-cylinder engines mounted on top of each other driving the first and third axles it was way ahead of it’s time.
Also axles 1, 2 and 3 were all steered.
