Howard Coleman back in the 70’s ran km and tks Bedfords he was the local coal merchant co lemans for coal he’s wife used to drive around in a Daimler v8250 everywhere at 20mph I used to over take her on me 3speed chooperI remember Coleman’s from Burley Gate hauling grain in sacks to Cardiff straight off the field in the early 60’s with a TK Graham.
F J Williams from Preston on Wye ran several lorries up until the late 1970’s.
Cheers Dave.
Don’t recall Howard Coleman running anything that modern! When I knew him he had Bedford O-models & S-types. He had an S-type parked at the side of his house for years after he retired. Don’t know if it’s still there, Dave?
Just remembered the dark blue lorries of Frome Valley Transport who did a lot of livestock transport as well as bigger vehicles on general haulage.Another on’s just popped into my head- Tommy Barwell, in the same colours as Coleman’s.
Took this pic with my phone while shopping for a new bed and matress,it was hanging on the wall in the shop in the bed dept,it is a GUY vixen owned by the makers of the matress that i bought and should think it was new as no reg number present, cheers Buzzer,

Hi MarcCracking pic of Woodfords 6 legger - thanks for that. That was the same one that I was referring to that overtook us on Hardenhuish Hill in Chippenham while John was desperately trying to find some forward motion with the Daf demonstrator - he was as savage as a bear

Can remember Webbs of Brinkworth, think they finished their days on a farm at Common Platt running a couple of units on magazine workAnother livestock haulier that springs to mind from that area was Lionel Pike- anybody else remember them. . think they ran Commers?
Hi Suedehead
Raymond Webbs always had some tidy motors, didn’t they? I can remember another firm with the same colours - was it Brinds?
- and I think I can vaguely recollect Lionel Pike…where they blue lorries? Or am I getting them mixed up with the blue brick and block lorries? Other than that, there was Lionel C Pike from Bridgewater…I’m confused!

Love the Scammell fishing boat, it may be resistant to corrosion, but one good wave over the side would smash it smithereens, wouldn’t it?

hiya,
Did a spot of deep sea fishing in the early 1960s and I wouldn’t like to be out
of sight of land in that “tub” it must only be used in “set fair” weather as you
say Spardo a half decent wave and she’d be “shedless” looks like it might be a
concocted crabber or lobster boat, whatever, pleased I’m not crewing her.

I was wondering if there was still an engine hump in the middle, I thought I could see one. Perhaps the engine is still in it.
If the rudder is connected to the steering wheel some of us old lorry drivers would feel completely at home. Not much point stamping on the brake when heading towards the harbour wall though.
