Looking at the sticker in the screen, The Bath & West Show could be a good guess Steve.

The Fl6 was my regular motor at the time but because it was the newest on the fleet,Bob Hatcher drove it and i beat him driving the elderly 1617, to the right of pic. :sunglasses:

Don’t tell him that mate, he will give me some stick now!!! I thought I knew who you were, but looking at the photo I think I’m wrong, you put a post on a while back about being in Hill’s Shorncote, I thought I had worked it out from that, but looking at the young Suedehead I’m sure I’m wrong, I was going to ask Lin if your name, as you know I know that through our pm’s, anyway all the best for 2013 mate.

Happy new year Norfolktrucker

Is that Hammonds F88?, I work with some lads that used to work for Roy and they can remember driving the old AEC he had. Keep up the good work with the pictures as it’s nice seeing motors that were local to me when i was growing up!.

Regards

Daz

Thats the one, my mate Alan said when you drove her she had horrific wheel wobble around 30 mph but if you hung on for dear life and got above that it would stop!. I followed Hammonds ERF (think it’s been sold on) up the A12 a few years ago and struggled to keep up in the Mondeo i had at the time. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Daz

Was it this AEC by chance?

All local motors to me as I grew up too

And the chalk mark on the tyre was not the result of “an Rdc incident”

You can add your own ending to this. The proper one is that they liked it and bought many more.

The first Scania sold in Britain 1967.

Cheers Phil.

In the last picture, any idea what the connection is? Why would all the different companies from different markets, with different truck makes all be driving along a runway together??
Would it be they all have Eaton or ZF components? Perhaps same tyres? A Goodyear publicity shot?? I’m very intrigued

Hi Extrucker,
The photo was for a tyre advert, I think it was Goodyear. I forgot to mention when I put the photo of the marathon on that I don,t think I would have gone into a transport cafe with those trousers on.

Phil.
