Hello again lads,Smashing stuff coming in…and nice comments too Thanks to all, heres a few more clippings,Cheers Bubbs,
Hi Marcus,
Happy to see the McKelvie Foden OHS 612.
This vehicle was based at Motherwell, but was taken at McKelvies Cheetham Hill depot.
OHS 612 was written off in a bad accident at Carlisle where it went through a wall into a churchyard.
It was pulling a 40ft flat loaded with plate steel out of Ravenscraig. The plates took the cab clean off,
but the driver and mate were able to jump clear.
LUCKY !!
Regards,
Gaz.
Wheel Nut:
They did an 8 Wheel Spanish Dodge. Did they do an 8 wheel Dodge with the LAD cab. It was also around the time of the Bedford VAL with Duple bodywork so a Chinese 6 with a Primrose Third Axle may have been a possibility.
Here is an odd 8 wheeler.
The 8 wheeler bedford started its life in the n/east ,it had a good few owners and was once a tipper belonging to R.G.Tait of Haydon bridge the last i knew of it it had been converted and belonged to a bloke in Darlington ,i worked with him a Tayforth Darlington by this time early 70s he had gone bust.i can’t remember his name.Vic
Hi All,
I was given these photos of K series Dodge in a show as the man knew i had one!, hopefully it clears up the reg number ofthe H Bradley K series. I think it is the same lorry some years later a little worse for wear and showing a paint job around the cab but they obviously found the missing “D”.
Also a photo of the factory colour 8 wheeler Dodge i think maybe outside the Primrose factory by the look of th TK’s in the background?.
And one of myK series which i am in the process of fitting a tipper to.
Great thread keep 'em comin part of my daily routine checking new additions.
Sorry if any copyright issues let me know and i will remove them.

Heres two photo’s one off them with a earlier owner
I think that Kenworth picture was taken at the old Truckworld site in Thurrock Bubs .
Those K series Dodge’s still look the business. Drove a few over a period of time, most with the dot 4 turbo in but mostly a six wheeler with the V8 in…cracking sound but bloody noisy!
The last from Wroughton…in the Science Museum now
Evening all, Bubbs, thank you for the very best thread on here!! Always a delight, and it always provokes thoughts , and memories. And most of my life seems to be pasts, and full of memories!!
Dennis, tha D Series was a Primrose job, for a “block haulier” in Hinckley, and powered by a Vale series ■■■■■■■■ at 28tons, but very light! Supplied by Paynes of Hinckley. Cheerio for now.
Hello again lads, more good stuff coming in…well done chaps, keep it coming, heres a few more from me.Cheers Bubbs,
