Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

TIDDERSON:
Can someone tell me what make this lorry is? I thought it was a Thorneycroft but the side windows and the rad. look wrong compared to the other 3 pictures below. And it’s not quite like the Maudslay cab either.

AEC Mammoth Major Mk2, looks a bit different because the centre grille bar and grille is missing, and it’s almost certainly been re-cabbed, cab looks too modern for it’s era. Dorset registration.
Bernard

Modern lorry in Lisbon. Tractor looks longer than the trailer.
Cheers Phil

norfolktrucker nice post , but got to say thats a brilliant signature post you have , laughed meslf silly when i read it

Seeing the Drakard’s F88, reminded me of when my dad was an owner driver for White Mountain, one of the Drakard’s used to shift the pavers and plant for them with an F16. I can’t remember his first name but i clearly remember he had a few fingers missing on one hand!

10,000th post on the thread - and still as fascinating!

Hi ,me again…someone asked me if I had any Naylors Tpt pics, well its taken a long time to come across the only one I’ve got but better late than never  ,Cheers Bubbs,

Hi Bubbs I would say there is a miss print in the text as that does not look 20 feet diameter as that would be just short of two and half times the width of the unit and on that trailer it would be over twenty four feet high :unamused: great pics though
cheers Johnnie

I have a Tamplin body on an old km bedford and trying to find somthing to do with it

Norfolktrucker, any idea whose motor this is? It was taken somewhere near Beccles, several years ago.

I think the ERF belonged to a farmer in Gisleham, i can’t remember if it was white house farm, or Cook’s who’s farm is behind morrisons on the south lowestoft industrial estate.

Whats wrong with 24 ft high you may just have to call BT or the electricity board now & again

Hi lads, heres todays stuff,Cheers Bubbs,

Agree about the height but that does look 20 ft wide ish.
Which will make it 20ft high + trailer height, bout 24ft then?
