Scarves, flags and other assorted crap

Now that was just funny…

Plus, when I start my shift, I’m clean and my hands are clean etc, but that’s not so by time I finish my shift, so then it would get dirty which isn’t fair.
And when I get out of the truck to wash my hands, I don’t go back to the truck, it’s called home time.

So you’re unhappy about your man putting a scarf in the window but happy enough to be all over the truck with mucky paws ■■?

That’s some [zb]ed up sense of priorities ■■ :unamused:

That does kinda portray as “the day shift guy has a bit of pride in his home and work life, but I could not give a flying one about anyone as long as I get wedged in at the end of the week”

Not mucky as such, but a bright red and white scarf would show up some dirt over time yes.

I carry baby wipes and always give the steering wheel a wipe down at the end of the shift - and sometimes during it too - and always wear gloves when operating the curtain or hooking up / disconnecting trailers etc.
But, baby wipes aren’t going to work on a scarf and you can’t be perfectly clean all the time, so don’t try and dig or troll, you know exactly what I meant :unamused:

I’m not unhappy about the scarf as much as the grief it could cause me through the day.
Around 14 drops / collections, only takes 1 ‘supporter’ of another team to decided ‘he can wait - the red scum’ or whatever and my day gets longer, all for a scarf for a team I don’t even support?

Nah, it’s in the cupboard for my shift - the night driver puts it there himself now - he’s welcome to it in the windscreen for his shift.

It’s your time in the truck, you can do what you want.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth:I know we are talking about flags and crap, but just how far would you go with that selfish remark? For instance if you borrowed a tramper’s motor in which he basically lived in, would you do what you wanted? For example smoke in it if the guy was an obvious non smoker, or maybe get in his bunk in dirty gear and shoes, or any other example for that matter, that I can recall, of past experience of ignorant shts who have used my motor for a run in the past that I can think of, who obviously thought the same way as you that "It’s your time in truck, do what you want. What an attitude :unamused: :unamused:

I think it’s obvious it wouldn’t bother me

But I do think a point has been made I.e if you roll in to Liverpool or the likes then you might be found kept waiting.

I got a Chelsea scarf hanging on the back wall. I think it brings a talking point as well something to chat and get a common ground with a fork lift driver often meaning getting tipped quicker.
But your mate has done the right thing now, if you share a motor why would you leave all your stuff out. I would probably use it to wipe my arse with anyway

Oh dear we have a Chelsea supporter there had to be one  now where’s the City fan

On the City managers desk??

That wasn’t intended in a Jimmy Saville way…honest. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
