Pay no attention to him - stick to the job in hand
Having just passed mine i would advise you not to regard it as a test - think of it as just another lesson but without any instructions.
I just drove as id been shown and most importantly didn
t rush it - take your time when manoeuvring and keep concentrating on your mirrors.
A good technique used by my instructor when doing my psv tuition was being randomly asked by the instructor what the colour of the car behind was. This might sound strange but you never knew when he was going to ask and it always made you aware of what was going on in your mirrors and encouraged you to keep looking.
I know its easy to saystay calm
but everyone is nervous on their test and divvys like Mr Hoggard dont help the situation in the slightest - I would hope the moderators are keeping a watchful eye on his conduct and give him the appropriate arse kicking in due course.
Good luck and keep positive
A big thank you to everyone who has given me their good luck for next friday.
I very much appricate it.
My nerves hopefully won’t get the better of me as i am being funded for learning to drive a lorry and this is my last time being funded.
I will have to save up next time if i fail (Hopefully i won’t).
well, thanks again everyone and i hope that hoggard bloke gets his dues. (slap in the face with a wet fish)
best wishes.

Would there be any chance you come from Gods own country ■■?
would you be so kind as to explain that comment please?
I totally disagree with mr Hoggard i don’t think the C&E test is any harder. I managed to fail both more than once
And now I am a very good driver! well i haven’t hit anything lately
All the best for friday and if it’s nerves that get to you start taking those KALM thingies now
Fully agree with ■■■■■■■■■■■■ “You are under pressure to drive 100% correctly”
Hit it on the nail mate.
2xQ suggests try and relax.
Coz if you had already proven to yurself
That you can handle the truck safely, why worry.
Try and forget that dude in a white coat in the left seat is an examiner,
and just drive the truck to the best of your ability.
The VOSA dude is unlikely to hurt you.
Thanks very much to CTT Wolverhampton, I now have my Class 2
and looking forward to doing the Bend’y Wagon Training.

Hi Folks,
Who is this Paul Hoggard bloke? If he was to take his test tommorow i’d put money on him failing…i bet he wouldn’t even pass his car test!
Good luck with your test you’ll have no problems…you show them who’s boss!
Regards Q
Hello all just thought i would add my 2 pennies worth. I too failed my first class2 test first time but passed on the retest. I have met and spoken to a hell of a lot of drivers during my time in the industry. It seems a lot of them, actually most of them passed their class2 on retests of various degrees and very few actually pass first time. If it were the case that only people who pass their tests first time should be cut out to be Lgv drivers then there would be very few of us on the roads and beings as you have to pass class2 to advance to class1 these days the transport industry would really be in the ■■■■ if that were the case.
This character by his own admission failed his first class1 test which means he shouldn’t be driving on the roads as he would be classed a muppet by class1 drivers who passed first time. Pay no attention to this ■■■■■■ it doesn’t matter when you pass the test as long as you pass it legitamately. As for it being a big van. No it isnt you ■■■. It is a heavy goods vehicle or Lgv as its now known. Grown up you pr!ck. People need to be encouraged to join this industry rather than be humiliated by idiots and dissuaded at the first hurdle, Im proud to be a driver and all the companys i have worked for have given me glowing references. So do not be dissuaded by this losers attitude. Keep your chins up and keep on trucking. Most of us are very decent and intelligent people. Thats my bit anyway over to you.
So - the general consensus from at least two contributors to this thread is that Class 2 is nothing more than a large van…
That surely makes those who have invested their own money and time into a new “career” feel like they’re really achieving something.
It’s a real shame the Class 2 / 1 “them and us” superiority complex exists on these forums…
To all those taking their Class 2 - good luck, and when you pass don’t be afraid to call yourself a “real” trucker… Just because it doesn’t bend doesn’t mean you’re not!
I agree with everyone who post on here.
I am getting this licence on friday and i dont care what that hoggard bloke said.
It isn’t a Huge Van it is more of a “LORRY”, So Mr Hoggard can go away and keep his opinions to his self!!!
All i failed on last time was not recognising the speed limit and undue hesitation so i will correct these this time.
thanks again.
Good luck mate, you will do it im sure and good luck to any others taking class2 or class1. I don’t know why that superiority thing exists but it does in some peoples eyes. I think maybe its the flaw of the individual and nothing more that that. They are probably inadequate in other areas of their lifes so feel they have some power over others in this aspect of their existence. Sad really. You think fellow professionals would just be glad more people are joining the community and would be happy for anyone who has taken the time and spent the money to do so. Peace to all.
Good luck for Friday mutha-trucker!!!
I also have my test on Friday so hopefully we will both get through it fine
I have everything crossed for you mate. Go for it
It isn’t a Huge Van it is more of a “LORRY”,
Regardless sof the type of vehicle you are driving, on a test it is the correct driving procedure and consideration for the size of the vehicle that will get you the desired result.
Good luck for Friday and come back in and tell us how you got on.
