You can’t hot link to the JobCentre site. You need to copy and paste the details.

It was a Spennymoor based co. wanting international drivers from any location

DescriptionMust be at least 25 years due to insurance and must possess a full, preferably clean, LGV Cat C+E licence (HGV Class 1). An ADR licence would be beneficial but is not essential. Previous UK driving and tachograph driving experience is essential. The wage depends on experience, licence and age but will be well in excess of the National Minimum Wage. Working for a Spennymoor based international haulage company - all applicants welcome regardless of location. Will average around 45 hours per week - this will involve nights away.

Contact JobCentre direct for more info.

Won’t be Peter Cook as they are based in Durham. I have seen the advert and I can only think of one firm that are based in Spennymoor and do international and that is KATEM.
Also have heard that Peter Cook have closed shop

Cheers Westie, you do euro work who are you on for

Don’t do European work any more Scaniamad, the firm I worked for wanted me to do things I wasn’t prepared to do. We did not part on amicable terms and I would rather not mention the firm, although I would like to name and shame discretion is the better part of valour. It was a Teesside based firm though. I found the European work a pleasant change but there are not many firms in this area that take on drivers for European work so I am now doing Safeway/morrisons through and agency until after my holidays.

I did get accepted by Peter Cook but turned it down after hearing the terms and type of work. Shortly after turning it down I heard they were closing shop, told all the drivers to return to depot.

As I understand it because that is the place to post requests for, and offers of, employment. Thought it a bit strange though myself as without replies it rapidly drops off the bottom out of sight.

Got a posting of my own in there, maybe I should drag that across too, but perhaps Rikki and Lucy have a good reason for doing things this way. Think I’ll wait and maybe they’ll jump in  .

Salut, David.

It wont be Peter Cook, i can confirm that they have went out the game, possibly last Thursday. Mr cookk is presently holidaying at his chateau in France.
