can anyone please tell me the differance between a G and R cab
and a long dashbroad to a short one

G cab is mounted on the old 4 series chassis where as the R series is mounted higher to count for the flatter floor. G series is mainly used in construction like tippers etc it was brought out to combat the FM globetrotter

A short dash finishes right to left at the stereo, a long dash has one extra row of cubby holes.
g cab is basically the old 4 series r cab , as said it sits lower than the current r cab & has the old style engine hump.
