Sorry to bring up an old chestnut , badge worship etc, but when my normally ultra reliable Renault Premium broke down my firm hired me a scanny V8 . Wow !
I’ve driven them before , an E reg and an M reg but this one is the Dogs bits .
Automatic transmisssion with clutch which I like already, smooth change, loads of power.
It 'll be a wrench when they take it away from me
Ps did I mention the leather seats ?
Hope the seats are heated!
Drive it in M mode and then twist the side bit forward so MP comes up on the dash zoooooom!!!

The company who owned “my” truck first turned that bit off aswell as the kick down lol, does it make a difference then?

I’m not sure I’ve never driven with it turned off
It is supposed to give it more power but does that mean that they set the engine up so you arnt using all the horses as standard? I dont know.

Will try that tomorrow, if I still got it did I mention the microwave ?
Ps and the coffee machine?
Seats may be heated I haven’t found that switch yet
Its actually hill mode so it will a lower gear longer while going up hill using it in manual will improve the mpg don’t bother with the kick down you wont need it just drive it normally and enjoy

I wondered that but I drive it in manual so I always knock it down before the hills and it just pulls all the way up. Why have this facility if you are driving it in Manual?

Yes make sure the glass base plate inside the microwave is sitting inside the 3 lugs or better just take it out otherwise it will slide all over the place.
The heated seat switch is on the side of the seat at the front end.

Alex, just instruct me on how to use it in Manu please, does it change up in 2gears like others how do you get it to jump just one ? I know how in Renault
No you change the gear when in manual mode it will skip shift in auto aswell

I drove a 3 pedal Auto Scanny a few weeks ago on a 12 plate. I found it a breeze to operate. Had to use the crawler gears pulling away uphill when near 40t so it’s not as good as the iShift but apart from that.
I know the old Opticruise had its critics but the latest system is real good.

Just like i-shift or what ever gearbox double, triple or what ever click to skip gears.
Hill mode I found no use of other than poor fuel consumption. It should change gears a bit faster in hill manual mode but not so you notice it other than the fuel consumption sky rockets.
If you want to start in a lower or higher gear just flick it till the gear you want is selected, let of the clutch and away we go.
You can also program a new starting gear. Parked, handbrake on, select the gear you want, move it to the hill mode until the gear indicator flashes and you have a new starting gear programed
End of story boys and girls ,wasn’t driving today was on loading shovel crushing, got back to yard and premium is coupled back up scanny getting a wash prior to going back.
Back to reality for me.
Life goes on .
Renault power rules !!
Most of our motors are Volvo’s with I-shift, and a couple of Scanny’s with the three-pedal opticruise… needless to say I end up stalling the Scan’s more often than if they had a manual stick fitted
Can’t see why the clutch pedal is there myself.

It just gives bait more control when manoeuvring , backing under or on to things I reckon .

I can see the logic behind that, but I’ve always found the I-shift copes well enough with two pedals.
To be fair to the 3 pedal opticruise, both the regular drivers soon changed their habits.

Perhaps Scania couldn’t get the low speed manoeuvring up to the standard of an i-shift so they fitted a clutch to their autos. In which case fair enough. For other autos who are also crap at low speeds but whose manufacturer said ■■■■ it, stick with 2 pedals, see MAN or Daf
Another postscript to the story , Renault lasted a day after surgery then went back to reduced power, guess what I’m in tomorrow ? Yea Scanny V8
Life deals you some ■■■■ cards it’s how you play 'em that counts
