Saw some new Scania tractor units being delivered today. They had tyre pressure monitors bolted on the outside of the wheel. Looked bloody ugly and easily damaged.
Expect to find more mysterious slow punctures. If you ever do get a blowout or a flat and they take the pressure monitors off make sure the tyre fitter checks the little rubber seal inside of it before they re-fit it as they fall out a lot.
