Can’t believe this, but after searching 2 years for a Class 1 job, I got my first shift driving a tri-axle Scania Topline! It was also a manual, the range change and splitter took a while to figure out, but OK once sussed. Loved it, some tight turns and tricky manoeuvres with plenty of trailer swaps - all good experience. For all you new drivers out there struggling to find a job, the sun will shine one day!!!
Very nice indeed, Out of curiosity as a newbie looking for my first job how did you find this job ?
What a shame, wasn’t a Volvo…
tin hat on!
I signed on with an Agency and blagged my way through about experience. You end up in the deep end, but if you manage to swim rather than sink, it’s the best way for newbies.
Can’t comment on Volvos yet!
Very good bud. Good luck with the job

+1 That’s how I started on the 7.5 puddle jumpers a long time ago. Looking back it’s a miracle I got through the first day, but it’s the quickest way!
Wait till you get an auto, easy peasy, lemon squeezy! B-)
or a DAF
dont matter if manual or auto will happy drive either as long as not a Scania might be Iam not tall enough for the seat
