Hi guys , I drive a 2004 topline . My truck was hit by a load swinging whilst being lifted by a crane the other day . Do any of you know where I could get the 2 top side panels from ? I tried eBay but no luck ! Thanks in advance .
have you tried any of the breakers that are listed in the back of Comical Motor?
Can’t you claim the crane companies insurance and get the right parts from Scania?
Try Graham Commercials in Carlisle, they often have second hand parts available.
Try Swedish Truck Parts.

My boss isn’t too bothered about it so I’m trying to source the parts myself . Thanks for the suggestions , i will get a look today . Cheers .
If your boss isn’t bothered not much point in you spending your cash, maybe you’ll fuel it up for him next week or replace a tyre if it goes! No wonder the jobs in the state it is.
I know its the trucknet way now but instead of jumping down his throat why dont you first ask if he’s paying for them himself first. I know its not much fun knowing the facts instead of making them up but hey ho.

Ok apologies I shouldn’t have jumped in. To the op if you source them and he buys them fine nobody likes driving a damaged lorry whether they caused it or not especially me. But think hard before using your own money cos where do you draw the line.
And Luke sorry I was so cynical but I recently heard two “gents” I use the term lightly, who have several units on norfolkline work you know the sort. Well one was proudly telling the other he’d hit the jackpot and got a 25yr old with 4 yrs experience who loved top lines and peanuts plus he was single! Is this what the married man of today with a family is up against? Young lads driving for nothing or next to nothing. I also know of cases where they pay towards insurance, I may have been lucky and got on the road as soon as I passed my test at 21 but I never paid for the privilege of doing so. As an experienced man yourself I would love to know your thoughts on this?
From his post I assumed his boss will pay but does not have the time to source them.
As for my thoughts on the points you mentioned. Took me 3 years to find a truck driving job. If someone said to me ‘you pay the extra it will cost to insure you and I’ll give you a job’ I’d have jumped at the chance. Principles are all good and well but no use to an unemployed 21 year old driver that is desperate for but can’t find a job. So I think that’s a good way of getting new drivers into the industry, and is better than companies who just flat out refuse to employ youngsters.
Also I’ve bought stuff like wheel trims for my truck. And even once when this one was just a few weeks old bought a headight for it! Never told anyone that! But I caught a post and didn’t want to admit to it. So each to their own. Personally if I ran a company young drivers would be at the front of the queue, can’t beat a bit of enthuasum and willingness to work. Not to mention they often look after trucks like they are their own. The young guys trucks at Virginia are gleaming and promote a good image.
Fair enough, in my younger days I bought wheel trims etc too. I still like to keep a clean smart motor and your right it is away for them to get a start. But do you not think they’re being preyed on by these operators? My father drove from he was 17-70 and always taught me a fair days work for a fair days pay. And apparently even in the 50/60s drivers from out in the country would drive for much less than men from the city. So really all I’m saying is I think too many operators are ripping the ■■■ out of young lads trying to get on the ladder and in the process drive the wages down for the rest of us. I was always under I’m impression you can’t buy experience.
I’m not paying for them myself , he just isn’t bothered looking for them so I don’t want to be driving around with the panels hanging off .
