Scania tachograph information on 144hrs

Sorry - I know this has been done to death and I’ve been reading through older posts. But, I started work this week at 10am on Sunday and although it looks like I should get back today, I want to be prepared for the worst.

Having read other posts, it would seem that I can’t start a seventh 24hr period. However, the tachograph information shows that I will need a weekly rest to commence before 10am tomorrow. That will be 144hrs. So has the tachograph info been programmed incorrectly, or can I indeed run in in the morning as long as I finish before 10am?

As long as you stay within the rules regarding rest breaks you are correct in that you can work until 10am saturday

As long as you are legal on rest periods as Ripper correctly says you can work up to 0959 Sunday morning. Not that you’d want to mind. There is no limits as to how many “cards” or work periods you can utilise within the magic 144 hour period.

Thank you very much. It is neither my intention, nor desire to be out tonight - but Friday traffic does have a habit of interfering with your best laid plans.

Saturday morning surely?

That would mean 168 hours between weekly Rest periods - and that’s not legal, is it??

144 hrs (6 x 24hr periods) from start of first shift to start of weekend rest seems correct.

But:
If a tacho was telling me (what is it actually saying?) that I need a break earlier, I would be trying to work out why.
Tacho software is generally more reliable than driver`s (my) awareness. If the tacho says there is a problem, then there often is one.

But the tacho isn’t telling him to take a break earlier than allowed - it is (quite correctly) telling him he can go up until 10am Saturday. It’s his own wetware processor that thinks he’s not allowed to go that far…

Yeah, should’ve written “0959 Saturday morning “.
