Scania radio help

Evening guys,

I’m new to this forum and not sure if this is in the right section or no.

I have a 2017 scania p series and it’s got scania medium radio with Bluetooth and an aux socket but I’m wanting to play music from my phone with a USB as that’s better than the aux so I was wondering what’s the best way of doing this with out going to scania and paying £190 for the USB cable [emoji85]

Many thanks James

Had similar problem with a Volvo . Dealer wanted £150’ish for the USB/ aux ports .
Fitted a new head unit from Halfords for £80 and got bluetooth as well as USB and aux ports .

Well if you want to play it though the USB looks like you will have to pay £190 or just use the aux it makes no difference does the same job

Ahh I see okey dokey guys no worries. I didn’t know weather you could get a similar USB connection from somewhere else for little less money.
What I don’t get is that the radio unit has Bluetooth but can’t play music through Bluetooth normally you can with there pioneer headunits.

You will probably need to activate the Bluetooth setting to use it. I have to with mine every time it goes in for service.

Okey dokey what with scania them selves? Or do you mean in the radio menu on the dash board?

I doubt that there is any difference in quality between using usb and aux input, unless you have the touchscreen stereo in it you wont be able to control the music from the head unit so would be a waste of money going the usb route.
Another route open to you would be to put your music onto a cd in mp3 format, and then you would be able to select the albums and tracks via the radio controls.
