Scania R480, low fuel warning light . .

Scanny 480, with a 540 litre diesel tank, how much do you reckon will be left in the tank once the ‘low fuel warning light’ flashes up■■?

Thanks in advance.

2 miles

I’ve never seen a low fuel warning light in a Scania before. Every one I’ve ever drove just had a guage.

Use your cab bar dip the tank gauges can’t be trusted. “Seeing is believing but feeling is the gods honest truth”

Go on, try it, I dare ya.

Will depend enormously on the terrain and if your empty or loaded My MAN has a 300ltr fuel tank, when its loaded if the light comes on its twitchy bum time, find the nearest key fuels asap. If Empty will easily run from Dumfries to Tebay.

Dont think mine has got one, i’ve run it just inside the red before and nothing came up.

I’ve done from M1 J29 to Beverley with a loaded double decker trailer on with low fuel light on in a Renault Premium fitted with a 400l tank.

Arse was nipping a bit though especially on the hill at Market Weighton.

One off our boys ran out on the Erskine bridge !
Had to call MERC out to five him fuel and de lock the system, gave him enough to go get fuel but he decided to drive to yard ! Ran out again , right at the entrance to yard has to get a few forklifts to push him in the door

“Give him”
Not five him sorry

No mate 100% genuine !

Lol

On the twin tank system they were very generous when getting in the red, you probly had about 200 litres still in it, dunno about the new single tank design, but may be a feature a scania’s to stop the chancres from running out, don’t quote me on that though!

Like others have said there’s no lights on a Scania.

Mines got one. I’ve gone from Lymm to Hilton park with the tank empty, the orange warning light on and the warning light on the dash on as well. I knocked it back to 50mph and I was empty.
