Scania R450

Hello all.

Looking for some advice. I am looking to hook up my inverter in my new home. Want to try and get feed from fuse box area as cannot be bothered running cables from battery box, ran it from fuse box in last unit bolted heavy duty cable onto main feeds (Merc) want to do the same. Any pointers would be great.
Cheers

Depending on the wattage of the inverter you may be lucky you didn’t fry the wiring.

There’s a reason high capacity ones are wired direct to the battery.

No Anderson connector would have gone that route if it was there, cheers and second to the second reply I haven’t connected anything yet might help if you read the post before you start blabbing your knowledge. All I want to know and there must be someone with a Scania that has found the main feed to the fusebox that has connected an inverter that way. Cheers

One of the other guys stripped his out there was no wiring to be found. Will just wait for its next service and quiz the guys at Scania. Cheers

If it’s the old shape R450,lift the front grille and on the passenger side there’ll be a black cover with all the electrical wiring going in,flip that off and you should see some bolt threads with wires ring connected to them. They are your 24v feeds from your batteries, unscrew the nut (try not to earth it with your spanner/socket as it doesn’t like it) and attach your wire to that and your earth wire to the earth that’s under the passenger kick panel and it should work.
I’ve got my microwave wired up like that and she works just fine.

Where do you think the main feed to the fuse box comes from Conor? It’s the way most professionals hard wire inverters
