If you can get comfortable in the Scania, it’ll be a better truck, more power, pull better, and a bit quieter too.
I struggle to get comfy in Scania’s, so I’d choose the ERF or MAN.

Scania quieter?
are you sure about that?
Scania has a crap bunk, MAN are pretty good
as for pulling power, the OP has only mentioned the scania, not the MAN, that would either be the 430 or the 480
i would choose the MAN every day

Now that’s a surprise. But I suppose after owning DAFs anything seems good.

now, given the choice from the OP, i would definitely choose the MAN every day
but, if you mentioned DAF, then it would be DAF every day
if the choice was between an Iveco Eurotech or a scania, i would choose the Iveco every day
the scania is a very uncomfortable truck to drive, the others aren’t
oh, and for your information, i would rather push a DAf than drive a Scania!!!
Well having driven a DAF quite a lot I’d say its just as well your happy pushing it

Rob, the choice is between Roadways’ scania’s and man/erf’s - the old ones too, not the 61’s, pretty sure my erf’s were 380’s and then felt like they’d been ‘turned down’ too, the 55 plate man’s were definately better, think they were 430’s but on the d20 engine which made a difference, but they were also automatic’s, I’d rather have a clutch for reversing until the later auto’s, the 55 plate man 'box is pretty bad for reversing, even the new ones aren’t great considering it’s basically the same box as the daf which I found to be nice (later ones).
The scania is definately quieter than the old man / erf’s
The bunk shouldn’t be an issue, don’t think Roadways do many nights out to be honest, I did 1 in 11 months, and that was unplanned, just ran out of hours whilst Leeds and Manchester were arguing about a box.
I will have a erf e10 so I can go slower than tescos
Scanias are really comfy if your boss gets the right seats fitted!!! I have the cotton seats not the plastic ones and I only have a highliner but i can stand in it i have cupboards front and back. I think allot of truck comfort is what your boss is willing to spend on the lorry.
Avoid the German thing if its got satans gearbox, other than that not a lot between them.
