Hiya All im going to be doing the atric test in a feew weeks time and im just trying to find out some more information on the R series gearbox, just wondering how easy it is to use and if anyone has any good tips on using it.
I passed my Rigid in a scania 94 with the 4over4 so i ve never had to use a range spilter box.
Any help would be great

Is this the one with the 3 over 3 range change with splitter gearbox 
Yeah i think its the 12 + 2 box

They are a bugger for the synchro going on 1st/4th.
If you have problems consider:-
Start off in 2nd Low. Gear lever to the right and forward.
Change into 3rd High. Gear lever to the right and back.
Next into 5th Low. Gear lever to the right and forward.
That way, effectively, you never use the left hand side of the gate (unless reversing 
).
