Scania mechanic

Does anyone know a good scania mechanic on truck net?

Hi Deeireland,

I’ve split this topic off from where you posted it, because you stand a much better chance of receiving good answers now it’s a separate topic.

iirc Discopete is a mechanic at Keltruck , although I haven’t seen him post recently

Disco aint at keltruck now Denis, he aint been there for a good while, i havent heard much from him myself as well.

What are you after D/L with the scania

You could try a member on here called Ainacs,he used to break scanias, don’t know whether he does any spannering though? He’s usually on the old time thread somewhere. HTH

Is it for advise or do you want someone to get there hands dirty.

you’re going to be hard pushed to find a mechanic.
there are a lot of fitters, and if the computer say no, then they are [zb]ed.

what’s up with it?

Hello fellas
And thanks for the reply,it a 164 480 scania 2002.
Every time I’m pulling a trailer and brake with the foot pedal the red light on the dashboard comes on for a few flashes then goes out ,but the the truck seem to be doin all the braking,ie heaving done on the front, new brakes all round recently, changed Suzzys, all new parts but still have the problem, also edc light comes on sometimes and cruise control goes off, would this be related, any thoughts or advice ?hoping it’s something simple,I can do myself.thanks in advance
Dee.

Thanks deisel dave

i don’t want to worry you, but it could be a serious, but simple problem.
there is a box above the drive axle (near side i think).
it distributes the air, and is controlled by the cpu.
i had one go wrong on me, and it put full braking on the near side front only. a very scary moment.
the part was about £500.
it was guess work to find it. the computer showed no faults.

mick green autos is a good mechanic at blackpole worcester, services the fleet from where i used to work top bloke as well

deeireland, used to work on scanias myself for a few years, the warning lights can be 1 of 2 things, either there is a relay playing up or the wiring loom that runs down by the air intake under the grille will have started to chaffe, as for the truck feeling like its braking all on the front maybe your cab moutings maybe shot which is giving your cab a nodding feel when you brake hence wobbling the wiring loom to chaffe together,

just a though, good luck

Thanks everyone.

its the air presure valve under the front l/hand panel… there is two and one for the hand brake… the top valve is the hand brake the lower to valves are the pressure sensor valves !!! not cheap either for what they are…

i worked for scania, ive had 1 do what your describing, and it was down to a faulty contact in the starter motor sending the ecu mental lol
