Scania for a busman's holiday, they didn't only make lorries

Although I spend most of my time maintaining vintage buses, which tends to kill the enthusiasm for the things more than somewhat, forewarned, I had a day out today to sample the first run in service, following years of difficult restoration, of this splendid Scania Metropolitan at the annual Ensignbus Vintage running day. Hopefully Scania fans will forgive me for mentioning a bus, but this really is a top notch job and the joint owner is a friend, who realised that if someone doesn’t do something about the less popular vehicles then soon they are gone forever. There are very few of these still in existence because being integral construction they simply rotted away. In London use these Scanias lasted less than 10 years. 110/111 drivers will recall the 11 litre engine note, but the MD has a naturally aspirated version, so it barks a bit louder.

There is a picture of what it looks like about 4 images down in the link.
