buy Iveco
No, because they rust to a pile of scrap in seconds as soon as any moisture gets near them and they have the electrics commonly found in a [censored] house.

Is it a concidence that T&D and Trucking had reviews on the R series Scanny last month and features on the 3 series and saying the 3 series was best truck ever built. Or is it just me who noticed this
i noticed aswell they were the best scania made you only have to look at how many are still on the road and what they sell for a true classic theres a very nice one in T&D this month
Stop fighting about buying horrible, foreign trucks !!
BUY BRITISH !
Buy a British Truck, constructed from British Steel, with British components, and a British engine.
Sorry, I’ll leave now.
niall what vintage would said truck be
Lads, on Thursday morning, I was offered a British Truck! In fact an ERF A series, 180 Gardner, and 6 speed DB with a 2 speed back end. Tidy as well, needs tarting up, 1 owner from new, put out to the shunt and looked after. Its got crossply’s on it even! now, if only I can get the gaffer to have it in the yard, and maybe go in on it for me, Im well interested. It was a j reg (1970) by the way
Mal - tell the gaffer it’s worth saving.
If I remember rightly, the Gardner 180 was fitted to other units in the 70’s,I think it was fitted to the Atkinson.
A chrome , scrolled badge used to sit on the mesh grille.
Niall.
If I can get it in the yard long term, I might well buy it meself Niall. Yes, theere were loads of motors fitted with 180’s. I drove this very model, same gearbox and everything. The David Brown was common behind a 180. I’d love to get it and restore it for the shows!
to me scania dealers have delusions of grandure its if they think your worthy of driving one then they will sell ya one.because of that attitude theyve lost sales to daf and alike
Hope you can Mal.
Where I lived years ago, the classic motors used to be :
Adam Jones ( Blackheath ) ; Atkinsons,Seddon Diesel,A.E.C.
Mandators, Mammoth Majors.
W. Parkes ( Blackheath ) Mostly A.E.C.'s and Leylands, later on though a few Magirus Deutz units ( you could hear them a mile away ! )
Both firms used to pull out of British Steel at Coombeswood, Halesowen.
Sadly, the site is now new industrial units, the steel works now gone.
Niall.
have ya read about the maggie deutz in trucking this month nice looking old motor the sleeper cab version mal buy that erf mate thats somthing ive always wanted to do but never had the time nor money

Yeah…
Can any one name a truly British truck?
Like I said, I’ll leave now (again).
Niall.
I wonder what the commision’s going to be ON £55-60,000 worth of unit? Obviousley the salespeople at Scania arn’t paid on comission then. On a personal note I’d much sooner have the DAF. Reversing a Scani’s like trying to reverse a sofa with wheels . No feel to it.
i must say that the attitude of my scania dealer leaves a lot to be desired.
because im looking for a new truck, and we already have two scania’s, he seems to think that its a forgone conclusion that we will buy another one.
but i wont, i want a certain spec, and hes telling me i cant have this and i cant have that, when i see it on other trucks!
i get my stralis demo on tuesday so see how it goes!

And if you’ve any sense you’ll give em it back and say “ta-ra”.
