Back in the 1980’s I can remember Scania uprating the 8 litre motors by an extra litre.
A buddy of mine bought an R cabbed motor which I presume was badged as a 92 model.
However,did the engine actually have a capacity of 9 litres or was it a sales ploy for the existing 8 litre engines.

TOTALY NEW DESIGNED ENGINE, 8,5 l 210 250 280 hp( last whit cooler )came in 85.in late 93 all cooled aswell as in 94 series,
