Has anyone heard from LB76 who started this thread ?
I tried to call him but no connection & it seems that he has not been on the site for some time.

Looks like a 1975 model, with a few earlier parts on it, like the 140/V8 badges and the steering wheel. Has anyone ever seen those shiny seats on an LB? I thought they were all fluffy after January 1975.

Hey, Happy New Year Anorak.
It is on Trucks NL for sale, with all bits of parts restaured for selling it, buying such thing is buying a pig in a poke.
Have a look on the inliner double chassis how wide it is standing open already.
The same on the blue one, look the rust spot, if you see this, you came guess what it is as you should strip them.

Eric,

Happy new year to you as well.
Yes that’s one of them, but the other was the same but other site of the chassis.
The other is the blue LBS for sale at Tom Holding, right sight.

Very very nice mate. Any more pics? .

Hi,
One of the earliest 140’s sold at B+W was to W T Hurdsman of Oswestry, It done many years of service with them and was driven by Trucknet member Neville (oxo 3), it was a very reliable motor in the right hands.
Early ones did corkscrew the prop pulling away on steep gradients but they soon got a more beefed up job, they were very easy to work on and well ahead of their time power wise.
One of the nicest sounding motors I ever heard !

I know there’s 730s now, but they ain’t as far in front of everything else on the road as the 141 was back in its day.

Not a bit of plastic anywhere, you could fix them with an adjustable and a hammer, they pulled like a train, had a decent ride (loaded) and the cab was the best there was at the time, Scania still rides on the reputation they earned, truly the King of the Road
