Went to Belgium as a second man with a wide load at the age of 14 approximately 1983.
No better sounding engine.

Just a bit of kidology I think.
without doubt the 141 best looking truck ever built and im not biassed
If you look closely at the Scania 141 in the picture, this is painted in metallic blue but metallic red looked awful so they painted the chassis black instead, from memory I think there was only about 4 units like this, BEO800V in earlier pictures was an exception and had normal Brady’s red chassis with the blue metallic cab.

TRANSCON ANDY:
Great pic dave , do you have any more grangewood pics , im going to build a model of the volvo f12 , when is was about 12 or 13 i used to go to grangewoods yard in norman road and clean the lorries on a saturday morning , i remember sym jones’s scania ( that was a very nice truck ) , im after a pic of the iveco they used to run as would like to build a model of that truck aswell ( that was my fav grangewood truck )Andy
David Miller:
Here’s one. Kenny Ward and John Streek with their Scanias in Grangewood’s yard in Greenwich when we all worked there.Mine was an F12 so I did not qualify for this picture!
All Grangewood’s motors went on export to Greece when they packed it in so don’t expect to see these again - except perhaps in Greece where they are no doubt still working their nuts off!
David i was with kenny ward in haddetha saudi last year he was there with a nokia communications truck
Bit of a Middle-East look to this tidy old Scanny!
