and mother of all scannies V8,s

Jesus it all looks so simple when you see it like that.

BTW do you know what those 4 inspection (?) panels are for on the bottom of the block, I assume that is what they are.

Moved to the thread for Scania Lb110

Autotransit:
Is it suitable to post an information sheet of a LBS 110 from 1968 in this thread? This tanker was used to transport animal fodder to farms.

An LBS 110 :unamused:
You heretic ! …dear O lord this could lead to pictures of Atki’s or even worse Fodens.

Stellan I was only jokeing mate.

I saw the twinkle, and maybe I should put my words in a more polite manner . But since it was made a thread for predecessor to the V8 I just moved it without any other thoughts… my English is not what it ought to be yet, but I´m still learning how to handle the language and how the forum works.

Maybe I can compensate with half a V8, also from 1968 :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Stellan. That gets me thinking- was the DS14 a crankcase, on which two modified DS5 cylinder blocks were mounted?

not not D5 was a shortened D8 , the V8 was totaly it,s own, untill the 16 litre came2000. after that all motors cheer same pistons heads and so   on

As bma says is the V8 have no relation with any other Scania engine. Here are some facts from the back side of the information sheet:
Scania L50 S 54. Engine: DS5, 120 h.p. Gear box: S5-35

I believe that this is a mostly unknown engine, eight cylinders in a row mounted in an S-V LS85 in 1952. Engine: D811; 11, 3 litre and 180 h.p.
