Scammell Routeman

SWINDON TRANSPORT :sunglasses:

That’s a blast from the past Swindon Transport.

Stanfield:
Gilbraith ran quite a few Scammells in their time over the years, in fact I am quite sure they were agents for them at their Accrington base.I know John Beisty Ltd the tipper company I worked for during the late 60s/70s bought a few new Routemans from them.0

gilbraiths were main leyland dealers for many years based in accrington next to asda, now demolished, also at botany bay ,chorley in what is now some sort of antiques and pleasure centre.they also ran gilbraith tankers from clayton le moors and a car dealership in the same part of hyndburn.they are still active in haulage based in the old goods yard on bolton rd, blackburn. which they took over a few years ago from p&g fogarty, haulage and storage.the same family of champion motor bike racers.regard,s. jack.
