Strange load; never saw such a way of displaying cars on a truck! Any idea of the make and model, perhaps early DAF Daffodils?
VW 412 perhaps?

Picture probably taken at Simca’s plant in Poissy, northern France. This site had an interesting history having originally been founded by Ford.
No…no DAF-cars…as the factory made the whole car in their own factory. The picture with the Krupp shows the
load of shells for BMW possibly towards/from the paint-shop direction assembly-line.

I still enjoy a drop of chilled milk to this day, but never see sterilised…

The BMW 700 series were assembled in the factory of Albert Moorkens in Kontich (South-East of Antwerp) and about 55.000 chassis were
assembled and sold…later Moorkens took the dealership for Spanish Pegaso-trucks.
See some pictures herewith
Thanks! Everyone has forgotten the times when BMW produced cheap cars!

0What about this beautiful Alfa-Romeo Mille tractor, obviously on display at a motor show?
Looks really nice IMHO Paul, were these actually for sale in France back in the day?

Hey,
They were well in advance for their time, were nice to drive, already with an electric selecter for the splitter, but as Lancia very bad engines, two trips Moskva was a new engine, and that was only as a coach, in a lorry even worse.
Not much were sold and were only as a normal two axle tractor and bus chassis available.
All ours got a Leyland 0680 engine, and the Lancia’s too.

I have no memory of seeing French-registered Alfa-Romeo trucks.
Nevertheless, Alfa diesels were fitted in some models of Saviem’s low range in the mid '60s, such as this one which belonged to a friend, back in the mid '80s.tiptop495:

Looks good. Who was the coachbuilder?
See attached picture…later Desot of Gits also imported Lancia
Tip-Top will know more details as he is from that region

hey,
Desot from Gits, between Bruges and Courtrai, the brands he sold were Alfa, Lancia and last Pegaso, as truck or bus (coach).
A firm very well known for quality busses or coaches, he made trailers too or converting trucks. Because of the trailers who were well build,
he could sell his tractors too, but lost ground because all the brands were of poor quality. One son created Cardever Fridge Trailers. the other was disabled. And closed in the mid '80’s,( bought by Turbo trucks Hoet, for the buildings and licence for trailerbuilding ) it died slowly without any brand and doing accident repairs.
He was a good salesman but with the wrong quality of marques.
On internet put in Carrosserie Desot Gits, you will find pics and a You Tube film.

I never saw French-registered Alfa trucks either, but I also did not know Saviem used Alfa engines. You really can learn something every day, eh?

To my opinion, that’s the main point of a good forum, such as tnuk!
If none Alfa-Romeo truck was sold in France, some Lancia were, one of these,an EsagammaE is preserved.
Renault Galion tipper from 1964 with Alfa-Romeo engine.
