Right, onto more serious matters, I’ve stumbled upon some pic’s which might be interesting to some of you, and not only because I haven’t got the slightest idea of what make it is…

The above post was about two inches down on the page 199. The two forward-control Volvos interest me. The big’un has a Paul cab, as shown on the Paul advert on the Vabis LV thread. The Poeze-liveried rigid’s cab is as yet, unidentified by me. Can anyone shed any light on its provenance?

Some old heavies…may have posted one or two before, but… :unamused:

Nostalgic photo…heavy haulage circa 1900’s 6hp, no auto box… :open_mouth:

Found a picture of Herr Sutherland and me when we were still wearing nappies… Johnny is riding shotgun, I’m teaching him how to use a proper 'box…

Patrick, I do not doubt for one minute that is you driving as I can see the dent on the front of the cab, Johnny informs me you hit a low bridge with it, as it was a super space cab when you left the yard and he says he felt sick when that photo was being taken due to smell of burning clutch!

You are spot on Pete!! Well spotted. You’ve got an eye for detail.
This picture was taken only a few years ago
Cheers, Johnny

Off again.

Gentlemen. I am away to Colombia tomorrow for 3 months or so. I will try to find more interesting things to photograph than the endless convoy of Kenworths.

Take care one and all.

That pic shows the highest mountain road pass in Morocco. Here’s a pic of my lorry when I crossed in the High Atlas mountains in 2005. You can just see that marker under the triangular roadsign in the centre of the picture. Robert

Is it the norm to have a box trailer for such a journey? What sort of weight were you carrying.

I’m spending my Friday night in a proper and one of the oldest transport cafes of Holland, and there’s a pic of a DAF hanging on the wall… can’t say it’s fitted with a standard cab though, the lass serving doesn’t know owt about it, so who of you fine gents knows a bit more about it…? I reckon it’s a Bollekens cab, but I might be wrong… as usual…

Another night, another transport cafe.

I know that I speak for all of us here, Patrick, when I say how grateful for all the hardships that you must have to suffer whilst looking for interesting things for us. Wish I could join you there, even for a koffie.

David
