Amazing how things resurface from time to time Dave.

Pic No 3 - “Berliet 4 X 2 funny front wheels and no vents and a V8 badge” is actually Xavier’s TR300 which appears in those videos I posted (the VERY same vehicle) prior restauration! The last known survivor.

Spooooooky Junior, Spoooooooooky…

The first one (6 x 4) looks like a standard Berliet TRH 280; if it were a TR 350, it would bear the “V8” logo on its grille.

The second seems to have been fitted with a front axle taken on a bonneted Berliet such as GBH.

The third is just a standard TR 300 with the “artillerie” wheels.

Thanks to all your contributions, I now realise that many detail modifications occured during the 26 years of production of the KB 2400 cab!

A couple of heavies !

Great photos DeanB!!! Some impressive driving on some of them. I did wonder how much planning went in to the route. Did they know it was going to be so tight, or were there a few worried people.

Johnny tight indeed, Nigel also mentioned it. But you have to remember the convoi exceptionnel loads are not allowed on the motor ways in France so trundle up the national roads. Can be exciting when you meet one, although normally the ■■■■■■ vehicles do a pretty good job. To be fair those boys can certainly drive !

Heres a few more ! Some tight going through towns.

Anyone on here that used to or does drive a crane ? This looks a bit dodgy to me ? I would think the crane
could easily over balance here ■■?

Great pictures Dean.

I would think that the title of the 4th picture, the red Renault with the rusty barge, should be ‘No chance Jimmy’

David

I have seen a number of convoy exceptionals in action through narrow roads. They sure are very impressive. Seeing how tight it was on some of the pictures made me wonder if it ever does go wrong. As in, underestimated space available etc.

Been down south last week with a CAT3 load, it’s been a while since I was that far down south (Montpellier region) and quite enjoyed it

I’ve took some pic’s of the scenery, and more importantly, the Les Routiers I’ve visited…well, haven’t visited all of them, still had some driving to do…occasionally

Cheers mate!

I did wondered about that 'froggy" Fergie, never knew they were built by Hotchkiss, only know them from the car making stuff…

Aye, that Renault was in a pretty good state as well! I would have opted for the old N88 though…
