Saviem JL20V with Cottard cab.

I had never seen this beautiful truck before; merci Michel!

Beautiful isn’t it, all those curves, hardly a straight panel on it…late fifties, early sixties ?..

Cottard built this cab in 1959 -1960 for Saviem .

Cracking found Michel, cheers! At first I thought it looked a bit like the old Pegaso cab…? Don’t know if that was designed by Cottard as well…?
But then again, if one does just have a glimpse of it, it does remind one a bit of that Foden “Micky Mouse” cab as well…?

Alright…I’ll get me coat… :unamused:

Just out of curiousity, what’s that thing mounted on the roof? Looks like an extra tank?

I think the thing on the roof is a roof box, for keeping spare ropes, tie downs etc, and for supporting the tilt when it’s drawn back…maybe…perhaps… possibly…
Although on closer inspection, the box might be attached to the front of the body, not on the roof, can’t enlarge it enough to see it…a lot of tilt trailer had them fitted years ago

Oh aye, that does make more sense indeed…was a bit puzzled by it, looks quite similar to the tank fitted on the chassis…

Saw some footage today of the RetroMobile fair in Paris, now bear with me because it’s not really lorry related, but there are several automotive gems to be found…
Is there anyone on here that has attended the fair before?
