Any thoughts on this one…?

Half of its missing ?..

I have half a memory that the extant half of it is in the ownership of Murdoch of Paisley, awaiting restoration. That may be wrong.

Severe case of incurable identity crisis!! It thinks it’s a Foden!! Very very sad   Regards Kev.

It looks to me like some bright spark took a hacksaw to a scania . dave

For some reason it does remind me of “In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king”…

It’s fun to read those comments on it though, from a poet with a sharpish eye (aye, meaning you Fergie  ) to Scanny “fans”, to Foden lovers and eventually Scanny haters… Never thought one pic could cause all those emotions…

Some more Swedish “odd” ones then…

Third picture is a Berliet T6. In fact a prototype initially built by the Rochet-Schneider engineers just before their firm was taken over by Berliet in 1951 or 1952). The first ones were fitted with a 225 bhp 11.1 litre Rochet-Schneider petrol engine; the, Berliet fitted the 200 bhp MDO 15-litre diesel. Only a handful were made.

Cheers for the info Froggy! Were those initially designed for military purposes? Seem to remember I saw one of those in military livery…

Indeed they were! 13 were produced in all, 3 of them had their petrol engine changed for a diesel.

The protruding radiator indicates that a diesel Berliet engine was fitted. This one had a second life as a wrecker.

Berliet produced two T12 8x8 tractors, also for the army. Only two prototypes were made. 25 tonnes kerbweight, with 4 sparewheels and a big winch to hoist tanks on its semi-trailer.

Berliet T 12 (4).jpg

Its engine was a huge petrol V12 issued from the coupling of 2 T6 Rochet engines; 450 bhp at 2200 rpm. All pictures are from Special Issue n°51 of Charge Utile Magazine.

You’re sure it was the gun club indeed?

Now on another matter, you’ve got to love those gendarmes…just got fined €1200… for disrespecting the permit, speed was to high and I should have been accompanied by another pilot ( 2 in total) because I’m driving on a CAT 3 permit, width is under 4m though… man wasn’t reasonable for a discussion.

Ouch!! That is rather high. Were you really so naughty! Profit gone from this and the next trip then…

Sent from my Hol-U19 using Tapatalk

Aye, the guvnor pays for it, don’t know if he’s going to fight it afterwards…no point in doing so really, mistake’s been obviously made…
It does increases this week’s profit a bit…and no I wasn’t being naughty Johnny, just being the friendly lad I’ve always been
Not that it made a big impression on that gendarme though…

And you’re right about the speed Fergie, if you’ve got an motard (no, not ■■■■■■) ■■■■■■ to get through a city they usually say " go as bleeding fast as ya can"…

michel:

Cheers for posting that Michel, is that the same Straumann who runs the grey Scania’s nowadays?
Looks like a 6x6 as well…?

Cheers, Patrick

Found some more from that other Colmar based firm…(don’t mean to bore anyone, if it’s to much just give us a shout… )

Willeme
