Here you go Patrick, you could be week-ended in this…two boards across the seat and an old army coat and blanket…so stop whining… :
You youngsters have never had it so good !!!

What is the village /small town in France where all the old army lorries and jeeps are alongside the road and are in 2 yards in the village, I have driven through it several times but cant think where it is.

Now hold on there mate, I’ve been sleeping “rough” in a day cabbed Volvo once before…that lasted a whole hour…er…hang on…oh bugger :unamused:

It’s getting worser though with the “new” generation of drivers, if their wagon isn’t equipped with an auto 'box, they can’t drive it… :unamused:

That second pic fits right in the category “oh bugger” moments

And that last pic…well, it certainly took some time to get anywhere with that lot I reckon…let alone tramping with them :unamused:

I had to pick up some wide part of a CAT digger in Drulingen (67) destinated for the CAT works in Dortmund.
Took them lads some time before I actually could load, so just wondered around for a bit in the yard…

Apologies for the agricultural theme Fergie, Bernard crawler circa 1948,

I think Bernard-Tracteurs had nothing to do with Camions Bernard. They were more probably a department of Bernard Moteurs, a manufacturer of small petrol engine built for farming, gardening and industrial applications. They were famous in France, and even had a factory in St-Satur, 15 kms from my house.

I think these two about the same event would have been appreciated:

Indeed! Even if, without the boring music, the sound of the engines would have been more appreciated.

Correct, I have a Bernard W2 engine from the 1940’s which came off of a Tarpen generator set. Bramlett Mowers of Thirsk fitted Bernard’s to their machines as well.
