I do one in about 12 Saturday’s (it’s in our contracts) usually easy work, often involving the Dreaded Amazon/Ridgemont, it feels like a Punishment, although I hav’nt done anything wrong, 16 pallets/palletline/9 different consignments on an 8 year old Filthy Axor (I can just about live with that, as it’s only about 5 miles from our base) booked in for 08.30 (arrived 08.25) 09.55 still waiting to get on a bay, the Monkeys have unloaded one wagon since I’ve been here !!!
Trying to get my office to pull me out, if I’m not on a bay by 10.00, even trying to Bribe the planner with the offer of a pint.
10.15, I’m on a bay now & handed my keys in, so I’m a Prisoner for the next 10 hours, told them that I need to be done & leaving by 11.30, as our yard shuts at 12.

Hemel Hempstead is the worst one I’ve had the misfortune of delivering to; nearly 2 hours to unload ONE pallet. The offer of taillifting it off and pumptrucking it to their ground level bay was rejected on health and safety grounds. Doncaster managed to damage the rear column of the trailer with the dock leveller… They wouldn’t admit it until I pointed out that as I must have opened the rear shutter to back onto the bay, it’s a little strange that it’s wedged hard when trying to close it again!
Credit where credit’s due, I’ve always had a relatively painless experience at P’boro though…

Our lot will only send a truck to Amazon if the customer agrees to paying for a dedicated vehicle, which they never agree to. Means we never get anything for Amazon coming into our place for delivery anymore.[emoji3]

11.55 [emoji22] & to top it all, the M1 was knackered 13-14 & consequently the 421 in to MK, so I had to Rag it back through the lanes the long way.
No night out gear Radar, I was in a spare motor, if there’d been much longer, I was considering leaving the bloody motor there & getting a Taxi home.

It was a Friday and if I remember it was an 8 or 9am tip.
So thought yes brilliant early finish for me.
There till after lunchtime nightmare.
Kicked out cab sat in some crap restroom.
Didn’t even take my lunch out or money for coffee as it was early and expected to be done quickly.
Was like torture.
If I’m in my own wagon, I’ve got a spare key so I can sneak back to get essential supplies (at the risk of being caught by one of their ‘Keep out of the Cab’ police)
The restroom at Ridgemont/Badgers Rise stinks of Urine & it’s right next to the Dirty Smokers Den, I’m sure they must be contravening Basic Human Rights somewhere ? Lol.
