Satnav power lead

Hi Everybody

Just bought a garmin satnav, does anybody know if the standard supplied cig lighter lead will work in a truck. I think it will be ok as the label staes input 10 - 30v and it is also fused so worse case will only blow fuse and not fry the satnav. Just after a bit of reassurance. PS back driving after 4 years away and loving it!

Thanks
Joe

Yes it’ll be fine

unless your truck runs at below 10v or above 30v, then seriously, what is the problem? :unamused:

Lighten up FFS.

To answer your question…

It’ll be fine in a car or a lorry or a bus.

Provided you plug it into a power source that is within that range of voltages.

I’ve always used TomToms and the power plugs on them have a green light that lights up if its powering properly. Provided the Garmin one has the same thing, just plug it in without plugging the other end in to your satnav and if it lights up then its fine. Either way its going to work fine as you’ve already said the voltage paramiters are 10-30v so no problem at all.

It’ll work fine …unless the cigarette lighter plug in truck has been disconected, as i found out in a couple of vehicles that I drove! :open_mouth:   Good job I always take a road map with me  & welcome

The OP had already stated the input range.
