My old antique tomtom has packed up and am looking to replace with either the tomtom truck or the snooper truck, any one any advice on which one will be handy before i buy one.
And this is from a man that wanted nowt to do with satnavs, until i used one, and on our job the satnav makes life easier with all the stupid o,clock deliveries and pickups in asleep towns and villages in the uk and eu,

I have a tomtom truck. If mine broke I would go and buy another one right away. It’s great!
well I have a snooper 7000 quite happy with it, not wrong yet and has a tv for when on break
How much is the tom tom truck compared to the snooper does anyone know

Same here. I don’t think snooper maps are quite as clear as tomtom. I’ve just ordered a new S7000 so I’ll let you know how much better it is than my 3 year old one.
TomTom XXL Europe, 100 quid, and a good map does the trick just fine
Looking on the internet now the snooper is slightly cheaper than the tomtom, £280 for the snooper and £340 for the tt, thats with the euro maps.the xxl tomtom looks ok too £160 with the euro map■■? scratchin be bald patch
Thanks Klunk
I use Snooper S7000, satnav great (not perfect obviously), bluetooth handsfree not bad and a telly for when you get there.
Good tool if used properly.

In my case, I don’t really care on how the maps look, to get to the destination in one piece and without worrying is the mos important factor. Maybe in the near future, snooper will make their maps a bit more clear.

Remember that to have LIVE Services connectivity on the TT, will Depend on WEBFLEET subscription, and I do have that already on the snooper
I replaced my old tomtom with a snooper 7000 and sent it back apart from built in tv it was crap I’ve now hot tomtom 9500 and it’s brilliant
Agree with the above, i had a tom tom with truck sd card, brought a snooper s7000 pro and it cocked up the route more times in a week than the tom tom did in a year, must admit tho i like the bluetooth and the tv is great…
Many of these have been mentioned on this forum but thought they might be a timely reminder to others.
Those excerpts were entertaining to read, albeit not surprising.
I have a Snooper S7000. I bought it not long after it was first released, it’s was a heap of junk, just generally poorly designed (I’m technically-minded and I love gadgets, so I know how to set it up properly). About six months ago, I paid about £80 for a software and map upgrade, it’s still a heap of junk.
On a few double-manned jobs, I’ve used the co-driver’s TomTom Truck 7000, it’s a great bit of kit. Assuming that TomTom haven’t gone backwards, I would assume the 7100 or 7150 are the way to go. Although, a word of caution, always back-up your TomTom before doing updates, etc.
Buy the TomTom.

Can’t explain your problems to be honest I’ve been using S7000 since it came out, going even to places logged as “unsuitable for LGV’s” and had no real problems.
I do however use it as I would use any technology, as an assistance to getting to where I want to go, I back it up by checking the route with a truckers map etc. If I’m happy with the route I’m given then I follow it, if not I find the interface easy enough to change the route to one I’d rather use and then follow it simples .
Maybe the French maps aren’t as good?
P.s. since your in France the Snooper wouldn’t be any good for you as the Gendarmerie are now fining people for having a satnav that tells them where speed cameras are anyway.
Get your old one sold on ebay, I got £20 for my knackered tom tom one europe. There are firms who buy them and repair/refurb.
I have bought the snooper truckmate s2000 and at first i am not impressed, as my old 6 year old tomtom 920 was more acurate, and i can not set the limiter speed on the snooper as i could on my tomtom , so my times of arrival are way out, admittedly it has more industrial areas than the tt
But time will tell if its any good///////////////■■?
Maybe i should have gone for the more expensive tt xxl?
