This has most likely been asked before ? But what is the best Truck Nav to use at an affordable price ? I once see a Trucker who had built in Tv in his Nav does this come with any affordable Truck Navs ? I would like the built in a Tv option how does this work ?
I have a Kindle is there an App I can use for this ? Or would it pay to get a IPad ? Any help appreciated
I have a Tom Tom 5150 great piece of kit but there are plenty of cheap ones out there from about 50 quid but obviously at that price it won’t have tv on it or even cheaper google maps is a drivers best friend

You don’t say.
At least every other thread on here is about sat navs.
If you use the search facility, there are thousands of them. In fact there are at least 2 currently running on this page, or nip over to the computer forum within the site.
Said it before, www.hgv-trucktables.co.uk the guy is called Chris who supplies and is a trucker in the uk. This sat nav is great value at£60. Not let me down yet.
Lovely job I will look into them, do you just download a standard TomTom app for the IPad ? If I went the IPad route I wouldn’t get Tv without wifi would I so I would have to pay extra to get internet ?

But on his site, his map update is already 6 months out of date at August 2013.
TT have had another since then, and another one is due imminently.

Thanks I will check the TomTom website
I just use the pre installed apple maps, regarding internet on my ipad, i use my iphone to tether to my ipad, all in £15 a month phone contract from 3
I’ve got the Tomtom 5150.
Every time I go into the tunnel freight terminal or Dover/Calais ferry Frieght terminals it beeps and tells me I’m in a 7.5t weight limit.
I don’t trust it.
But it is very accurate with the eta.
Page live traffic and weather are pretty accurate too.
If I had to buy another (like when this one packs up) I’d buy another Tomtom, but just a normal car one with the live services.

Plus his are the Chinese type found on E.Bay.
Ken.
Fair enough ken I get your point on the update comment if you think 6 months is out of date, I suggested this sat nav as the op was asking for an affordable unit.
If your looking at iPad iphone route look at either Renault truck nav or copilot truck the Renault is copilot rebadged ive used the copilot trucknav for over since 2007
Thanks for your replies people I now have a better idea, and think I might just opt for a tv in the cab up high. The snooper sounds great but is too expensive. I will look Into the others and decide thanks for the help
