Why not just use the ‘upgrade’ system available on certain sites to upgrade your 710 with truck capabilities - it’s very easy with the x20 / x30 series, never done a x10 myself though, but I’m sure it’d be possible. I’ve done a tomtom one in the past.

I’d also be interested in the answer to Harv’s question.

I also realise that there are options to ‘upgrade’ some older stanavs but IIRC a review I read somewhere mentioned that there is a reduced functionality by choosing the upgrade rather than the newer truck specific options. Unfortunately, that same review didn’t look at what was the better bit of kit, the TT7000 or the S2000. :unamused:

I only used an S2000 a couple of times as it was my drivers mates sat nav…

I use a Tomtom 520 with Truck maps and it’s brilliant. Much better than the S2000 in my opinion, but opinions are like ■■■■■■■■■ everyone’s got 1 (well, except the odd siamese twin I guess?)

But, I think the 7000’s around 450? and the s2000’s around £280… I’ll stick with my 520 for now thanks

I am a sworn tomtom user but have read recently that they are stopping users adding third party speed camera and other POI data bases.

I get my cameras from pocketgps world and read this the other day.

A stupid move by tomtom there I think, but it’s only the latest products, so I’m ok.

I use tomtom’s premium speed cameras, but take it with a pinch of salt to be honest.

I like my poi’s to make a noise though, I have poi’s for no-hgv roads, low bridges, weight limits etc, so if I screw up or the sat nav does, it’s just that extra bit of warning. My sat nav’s supposed to avoid weight limits, low bridges etc, but a diversion can change things, and whilst it’s re-calculating… Also, no sat nav is 100%, you need to use your eyes, and your common sense.

Personally though, I’ll be sticking with my tomtom

snooper s7000 is best £349 thesatnavcompany.co.uk

There’s alternatives to the £179 truck sd card, and it’s 520 upwards
