Which models do you use I’m after one for driving an 8x4 daf grab around London I’m not interested in spending silly money I don’t need Adr routes and all the rest of the ■■■■■■■■ as I’m not over height vechile either .
Anyone using the cheaper China models advertised on the bay
Mine packed up about 2 yrs ago so back to doing it the old fashioned way with a little help from Google !!
It seems it’s a necessity driving an 8 wheeler grab around London very easy to get snookered taking a wrong turn
Been using the cheap chinese ones for about 3yrs now with no problems at all with it…Just bought one of that chris from trucktables…Little more expensive than my last one…But looks alot better…And the maps are easier too update on this new one…

Get one off Chris at truck tables I have been using one since last year there about £65 and if you have any problems with it you can ring him on his mobile

Truckables £69.99 delivered
Website or ebay
Can enter truck dimensions.
I use mine around London and is spot on.
Google maps on your phone and a large scale AA atlas. Has very good street maps of London, easy to make notes on.
Note download the lorry ban map and mark it on said atlas. Worked for me on early deliveries in a 26tonner, no fines. Unlike colleagues who relied on sat navs.
Cheers I will have a look at trucktables on EBay
First one I got was the HGV trucktables one. Great but of kit for £70.
Now use the tomtom trucker6000. Cost £270, but I get at least 4 map updates a year, live traffic and updated speed cameras. Great satnav that hasn’t done me wrong yet. Used with an ounce of common sense it’s a great but of kit, amazingly accurate on traffic and roadworks.
Snooper , do all around central London and spot on , £400 though , don’t let the Mrs know though , mrs was not impressed at all
Most navs offer lifetime maps. Whats the on-costs for live traffic and cameras? Also, what are the minimum spec phones that you can use for the live traffic. I looked at a garmin and my poverty model Galaxy Ace wasn’t man enough.
Tom Tom 5150, has its moments where she loses the plot. Not fun when you’re going round the centre of Birmingham.
