No ones biting on my snooper syrius enquiry so I was wondering if anyone doing europe can share their advice on using a device over the water.I know the topic tends to polarise opinion but I’m possibly embarking on a euro job and as a late convert to the kit in this country need to know if the devices are as useful over there as they can be in good old blighty?I mean approaching Paris can catch you out especially when the fog kicks in,so are any navs better than others at guiding into the right lanes in these situations?

Any Sat Nav in Paris struggles to keep up once you have left the comfort of the Peripherique. Get in the general area then use your common nouse and tongue
all sat navs have quirks and getting out of the cack is easier when
you can comprehend the lingo
any way on my first Paris trip i did with sat nav
i ran in conjunction with me Paris A-Z
some of the bits i knew so wasnt too worried
when it sent me a different way to what i would have gone
anyhow a few lefts and rights it put me right in the street
i needed
2 things i worked out when leaving via my way that it routed me
with the the best way for a LHD cos it didnt know i was RHD
when you use sat nav over there just take extra care when checking the route
and destination
same as here make sure you have the best road atlas of the country
and the problems will be minimised
The Snooper Syrius was the first ever satnav I ever bought.
Dropped it one or two times. That wasn’t supposed to affect the software, or was it?
When the voices led me one way and the graphics another, I soon enough bought myself a Garmin. Software went bonkers under one year, partly helped by my playing with trying to get rid of some of its voices but under warranty got myself another one.
I now have a TomTom GoLive 750 which is excellent but not as good as the Garmin Nuvi 265W on camera’s.
If you haven’t gotten a Snooper, stay well away from it. It’s graphics are second to none is the best I have to say for Snooper.
I used the company Garmin in Europe last week to go to Hungary. It took me right to the door,I used my own Tom Tom from Vienna, and it brought me a better, shorter, faster way. I think overall…Just use a map as back up and to cross check . Otherwise they work ok.
