So lets have a simple poll which one snooper or tomtom ?
Snooper
as I have only had 2 navs
1st … is a garman car standard.
2nd … is a tom tom standard car with live traffic.
1st is a basic and even with updates still took me round routes wrongly so you had to keep your whit’s about you.
2nd has live traffic which helps as long as the info is passed and its updated on tom toms system…
Not used a truck nav and as I only use it for the bare basic I wont buy another .
I have found that with the TT if the live traffic flags up closed route it will offer an alternative which is great until you use the same route the next day or week and the diversion is automatically saved on that route ( even in favourites ) .
Garmin navvi for me. full uk & European street maps. Works well in car, not been far with truck.
Snooper ‘with slight reservations’ ie: more space for user input into favourites (only allows 150 or so on mine) and cheaper map updates.

when that happens mate there is a little reset hole at the bottom
just stick a pin or the tip of a pen in it
and it restarts and forgets about any previous diversions/road closures
Tomtom, been using them for over 8 years and cant fault them
after trying pronav, garmin, papago and others, there still no1
i have had the snooper db8500 and tomtom 5150 truck in the last year. tomtom the only way to go if you want a pure satnav
im still pootling about with my tt910 its 10years old ive put a new batt in it and lasts for 3hrs without charging, iv put low bridges and weights on it has done me fine although i would like a proper truck one but tomtom most simple and better map quality in my opinion we all have our preferences dont we
Still using my old TT 540 Live, using the truck navcore and maps I have put onto a memory card so it is effect a TT Truck nav - routing is pretty much spot on to vehicle profile, a great improvement over the standard car mode.
I still use a 720 with truck maps but have been thinking about getting a 5150 and a few searches on google returned these prices
