Sat Nav

I have recently started driving Class 2 trucks for a local company delivering Chilled and frozen foods to small independant supermarkets / corner shops / petrol stations.
Most of these shops are located within housing estates, back streets or truck unfriendly locations.
Without buying an A - Z of every town / city in the country, a Sat Nav is imperative.
After using my TomTom One V2 for a couple of trips, I find it to be very truck unfriendly (directing me towards 7.5t roads or unpassable back street roads), therefore I am looking for a more HGV user friendly device.
The options I am considering are purchasing / Downloading PRO CAB for my TomTom One, or breaking the bank for a TomTom 7000 Work or a Snooper Truck Mate both of which are approx £350+
Has anyone ever used any of these options and if so how good are they ?
Any other suggestions or Sat Nav devices are more than welcome
Thanks

I use one of these…

In all seriousness, welcome along, somebody more helpful will be along soon!

Hi,

i am also delivering to high street shops and hotels, i paid out for a snooper truckmate and once you have set it up it up it is pretty good. it is not a user friendly as a tomtom but you will get used to it. i have also paid out for the tomtom work sd card for the Go740 (i was told that the live services would work but they don’t !!!) and it did not work very well at all, so i will be returning that back to the supplier as i was miss sold it.

as i am sure many others on this forum will tell you you can’t trust any sat nav 100% you still need to keep your eyes open.

Best one I recommend is a TomTom.
SD card doesn’t work with mine say TomTom so I have to keep my eyes open.

I have seen somebody use a Snooper Truckmate - looks very bulky and for my experiences of using a non lorry Snooper, wouldn’t recommend a snooper for anything.

Give me a link to this Pro Cab you mention please.
Search brings up all sorts of pro and cab but nine for lorries.
Cheers.

Hi,

I drive a 12+ car transporter so height, width and weight restrictions are critical.I use the TOMTOM TRUCK 7000 And it as never let me down.

However I always double check the route before setting off and if needed you can tweak it.

Hope this helps.
