SAT NAV

Was having a look ar the sat nav situation. I see Tom Tom do a trucker version that takes into account load width height etc. However this will cover most of Europe but not France.

I know there are a few choices such as Co Pilot but what is the cheapest and most useful? (apart from a map)

The snooper stuff looks interesting.

Just ordered a snooper Truckmate S2000 euro, it appears to have all required size weight height etc, plus all speed cameras, traffic updates and 10 drop route sorting, blue tooth hands free for the mobile. Snooper want nearly £500 but this firm will sell you one for £320 (pentagongps.co.uk/s.do?searc … ords=s2000)

In my opinion the problem with Tom Tom Trucker is that to have it you also have to buy the WORK package with a monthly charge. Interestingly it seems Tom Tom designed it with fleet operators in mind and one of the points of sale is that the truck can be tracked on screen! Nice to know that big brother is watching.

There is as I’ve seen from other threads a number of low bridge and Truck stop softwares available to download, this one is about £15 (lowbridges.com/index.htm ) so a ordinary sat nav can be upgraded.
