Just wondering if it is possible to put new software onto a satnav system 
I currently have a goodmans GNAV10, running destinator. Is there any way to run, say TomTom software on it?

no you cant im afraid your stuck wth destinator you might be able to hack the device. as this would invalidate any warrenty and each time you did a reset if the device froze you would have to do the reg edits again ie pain in the ■■■
basicly if want to have choice of software dont by a pna ie go icn etc
get a pocketpc instead then you have the choice of any software nt eh market
Thanks Alix. What about software for mobile phones. A mate of mine has offered me a Nokia 6600 and reckons you can run satnav software on it. Is this true, and if so is the software expensive or possible to download?

yep the 6600 will run either tomtom or route66 as will other series 60 series 80 symbian phones also if your on contract have a look at the ornage spvs

Garmin also do a unit now with full postcode search.
Speaking as a user of a TomTom I find the postcode search very accurate (which is more than can be said for DHL’s postcodes!)
