Well, it’s easy for anybody to make their own judgement because Ady1 is actually Mo (Topgun), from the TV series “Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers” posting as a sock puppet.
i don’t even bother carrying a map any more, just the laptop and google maps, we do a lot of farms in the westcountry and if you want tight places to go their the ones, if i ain’t been there before look it up on the laptop, even better if its goes down to street view as i can look at the name outside the place. if still indoubt i will ring up and confirm what i am looking at is correct, if i want satnav just use my android phone it has never let me down or sent me down the wrong road, as someone else said technology is only as good as the person using it

An agency driver at our place had an accident with a wall a couple of weeks ago because he followed his sat nav and got stuck in some small village somewhere. Now on the morning at work he asked for a route map for where he was going (Batleys Swindon) but allegedly the map was no good so he said ok i will use my sat nav and proceeded to put in the post code.
Anyway that’s where his problems started as it was the wrong postcode on the delivery notes. His excuse was if the company had provided him with a decent map he wouldn’t of crunched the unit.
So what do you all reckon ? He almost has a point but then again had he used his sat nav in conjunction with a map he wouldn’t of gone down the road he went.i wont leave the yard without a map,be it a drivers map[drawn by a driver] or one of those maps they print off p.c,those maps + my maps[truckers maps,a-z,s etc ] always get me there,tried sat-nav but couldnt get on with it so gave it too my girl.
id want to see where he ended up first before judging him,was it a place where your straight away thinking i dont want to be going down here so he shouldnt of gone there,or one of those places that seem fine then suddenly your in trouble,that said if your in trouble you shouldnt just hit a wall,weve all been in tight spots thinking oh dear,but you take a step back,take stock of things and work your way steadily out of it
id guess theyll[your mob] will just do like our did a fter having 21 accidents/damage in a short space of time[19 agency/2 regular drivers],they just sent the bill to the agency,think what wound our boss up at the time was they were all avoidable accidents,careleness ,so he just said they can pay for it,might make them think a bit.By the sound of it ady. you couldn’t find your arse with both hands !Bewick.

I ripped out a small single farm gate going out of one of our sites last week, we usually have blokes on site to watch the normal driver out, but the usual driver was off and I was on my Todd and the site was shut due to the rain, I got in ok as it was a right turn and I could see clear, but after getting loaded I had an awkward left turn onto the country lane and the rear steer on the trailer didn’t help!
The tail end that was out of view curled round and snagged it, I didn’t even know I had ripped it out until I got out and went back to close it! I felt like a rite ■■■. Wanted to blame everyone but myself! Should have had someone watching like the other driver usually has! But I know the boss didn’t want to hear it so just took the rap and apologised, he knew it was tight and even said it was difficult without anyone watching. Anyway, I picked up a gate off the shelf on the way back for not to much and all was ok.
It may be worth noting that it’s not the first gate or wall I have clipped, most of our sites are really tight! The normal driver has clipped a few things as well and he’s got a lot of experience, over 30 years, the places he has and can reverse into is no ones business.

i always judge folks when i meet them face to face,when i get to meet mo ill make that decision for myself,i think youve got to be quite nieve to base your assumptions of what people are like on the basis of a t.v program or a truckers forum,as has been said many a time,trucknet is not REAL life,nor is t.v,you can be who you like,you could easily be the quietest/mild mannered person 
,but the most vocal,argumentative person when you come on here,
but as i get on with everyone fine in real life,i see no reason i wouldnt get on just fine with mo,or would that be mo with me,so confusing this split personality disorder is

Well said “puntabrava” you have got to ask yourself if this “■■■■■■■■” ady1 is for real because if he is representative of the sort of drivers “fast eddie” employs, as a former large employer I feel dreadfully sorry for them.You don’t see employees of Wincanton,Nobby,Malcolms ect.coming on the thread,ever,and mouthing off like these “fast eddie” clowns,which I suppose is the reason they attract all the flak they do,and then the likes of ady1 “gets his underwear tangled” and can only resort to making nasty coments which just underlines the fact that he is a ■■■■ of “the first water”.He shouldn’t get carried away with his and his employers over inflated self importance as I couldn’t give toss wether it is “fast eddie” or A.N.Other,if a ■■■■■■■■ driver came on the site from wherever he’d still get the same “stick” off me and many others like me.I think I can safely say that during my 30 years in the transport business I achieved more and contributed more than ady1 has or is ever likely to do!
